Shoot Direction

In my roles, I've enjoyed directing dozens of photo shoots from concept to execution for GMC, Analog Devices, and AT&T.

My experience directing photo, 3D anim, and video shoots have spanned both B2C and B2B initiatives. A lot goes into a shoot process from early concept sketches, to planning, bidding and location scouting. The audience is always critical to keep in mind so I opt for authenticity by hiring actual subject area experts instead of models when possible. Below are samples from some of those shoots for GMC and ADI.

This is the crew, clients and actual rescue teams on location to capture a rescue scene to promote GMC commercial vehicles. I’m in blue next to Don Johnston, a great automotive photographer I worked with on several of my many GMC shoots.

At Analog Devices, I always advocated for custom photo and video shoots that showcased the talented engineers and high tech facilities. My goal was to reduce any reliance on generic stock imagery. It’s important to depict specialized skills or procedures to connect with a semiconductor audience.

We worked with a trusted photographer to secure an exclusive image library contract. This enabled us to economically create a robust library that convinced leadership of the value in investing in custom creative work. Streamlining the process with minimal stakeholders ensured efficiency and a cohesive vision. Below is a sample of that work.
